Inter Club d’Escaldes, Maurizio Pochettino and Andorran football
15 October 2026
Inter Club d’Escaldes became the first club from Andorra to reach the league or group phase of a major European competition, opening their Conference League campaign against Mjällby. The achievement marks a milestone for the country’s domestic football.
Inter qualified after a penalty shootout win against Drita in August. The club expects European participation income exceeding €3 million, roughly two and a half times its annual budget. Maurizio Pochettino, son of the US national-team coach, is among its players.
