Fenerbahce, Napoli and Romelu Lukaku

Fenerbahce have officially signed Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku from Napoli after the clubs previously reached an agreement and the player completed his medical. The 33-year-old returns to Turkey, where he lived as a child while his father played professionally.

Lukaku says he is fully fit after injuries restricted him to seven Napoli appearances last season. He joins fellow former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood as Fenerbahce strengthen their attack in an attempt to end a league-title drought dating to 2014.

Atletico Madrid have agreed a €40m, roughly £34.2m, fee with Tottenham for captain Cristian Romero. Spurs will also retain a 15% sell-on clause as the Argentina centre-back prepares to leave after five seasons in north London.

Hull have completed the signings of centre-backs Nobel Mendy from Rayo Vallecano and Lucas Herrington from Colorado Rapids. Mendy arrives for Hull’s new club-record fee, exceeding the £20m-plus package previously paid for goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis.

Herrington’s move also produces a record sale for Colorado and the highest reported MLS fee for a defender, with the package potentially reaching $23m. Hull therefore add two young internationals as they prepare for their Premier League return.

Celtic have officially signed Egypt winger Haissem Hassan from Real Oviedo on a four-year contract with an option for another season. The 24-year-old becomes Martin O’Neill’s third summer addition after impressing during Egypt’s World Cup knockout run.
