Al Ahly, Al-Shamal and Akram Tawfik

Al Ahly have officially re-signed Egypt midfielder Akram Tawfik on a three-year contract after he mutually terminated his deal with Qatar’s Al-Shamal. The 27-year-old returns to Cairo only one season after leaving the club in 2025.

Tawfik becomes Al Ahly’s fifth signing of the summer as the Egyptian club rebuilds before the new domestic and continental campaigns. His free-agent status allowed Al Ahly to complete the return without negotiating a transfer fee with Al-Shamal.

Julian Alvarez, Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona

Julian Alvarez met Diego Simeone and again expressed his desire to leave Atletico Madrid, with Barcelona remaining his preferred destination. Simeone told the Argentina striker he remains a key player and that any transfer decision belongs to club executives.

Atletico have maintained that Alvarez is not for sale after rejecting major interest, while Barcelona still consider him their priority replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The face-to-face meeting leaves Alvarez needing either to escalate his position or remain in Madrid.

Bayern Munich and Bara Sapoko Ndiaye

Bayern Munich have officially signed 18-year-old Senegal midfielder Bara Sapoko Ndiaye on a contract running until 2031. The teenager had already spent time with Bayern on loan and impressed during training camps and four Bundesliga appearances before the permanent move.

Ndiaye takes a squad place opened by Leon Goretzka’s departure and will compete with Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Tom Bischof. Bayern view his pace, intelligence and versatility as qualities that can support a long-term first-team development pathway.

Ipswich Town, Strasbourg and Julio Enciso

Ipswich Town have agreed a fee with Strasbourg for Paraguay forward Julio Enciso, bringing the 22-year-old closer to a return to Portman Road. Enciso previously spent six months on loan at Ipswich in 2025 and impressed under Gary O’Neil last season.

The fee remains undisclosed but is expected to consume a sizeable part of Ipswich’s remaining transfer budget and deliver Strasbourg a substantial profit on their £7.7m investment. It is unclear whether the deal will exceed Ipswich’s £24m club record.

Barcelona, Manchester City and Rodri

Barcelona have reportedly increased their offer for Manchester City midfielder Rodri to €60m. City are said to have rejected a €50m proposal and continue to value the Spain international at around €80m as negotiations remain active between the clubs.

Reports suggest a compromise around €70m plus bonuses remains possible, with sporting directors Deco and Hugo Viana expected to discuss terms. Rodri has reportedly chosen Barcelona over Real Madrid and given his word to coach Hansi Flick.
