Madjo became the youngest player to score in a UEFA Super Cup final, but Doue’s second-half goal settled the match. Luis Enrique’s side added another European trophy after entering with only a short preseason following their Champions League campaign.

Al Ahly have officially re-signed Egypt midfielder Akram Tawfik on a three-year contract after he mutually terminated his deal with Qatar’s Al-Shamal. The 27-year-old returns to Cairo only one season after leaving the club in 2025.

Tawfik becomes Al Ahly’s fifth signing of the summer as the Egyptian club rebuilds before the new domestic and continental campaigns. His free-agent status allowed Al Ahly to complete the return without negotiating a transfer fee with Al-Shamal.

Al Ahly have confirmed Morocco defender Youssef Belammari suffered a cruciate ligament rupture during a preseason friendly against Badalona. MRI scans established the severity of the knee injury, and the club is now arranging surgery for the 27-year-old.

Belammari joined Al Ahly from Raja in January and has made 12 appearances since arriving. His absence removes an important defensive option before the season begins, with the club yet to provide either a surgery date or estimated return timetable.

Rangers striker Youssef Chermiti has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury and faces a lengthy absence. The 22-year-old was hurt during the defeat by Hibernian, shortly after Rangers rejected a transfer bid for the Portugal Under-21 international.

Atletico have maintained that Alvarez is not for sale after rejecting major interest, while Barcelona still consider him their priority replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The face-to-face meeting leaves Alvarez needing either to escalate his position or remain in Madrid.

Dresden also asked creators to respect supporters who do not want cameras around them, particularly inside the ultras’ K-block. The club says monetised videos benefit creators while providing no return to the rights holders whose product is being recorded.

The fee remains undisclosed but is expected to consume a sizeable part of Ipswich’s remaining transfer budget and deliver Strasbourg a substantial profit on their £7.7m investment. It is unclear whether the deal will exceed Ipswich’s £24m club record.
