Liverpool have secured Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen for €35m after activating his release clause. The 24-year-old full-back will arrive as a long-term option following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s confirmed move to Real Madrid for the Club World Cup.
Frimpong will officially join after the transfer window opens. Liverpool structured the payment in three installments and Slot sees him as a flexible right-side asset who can also cover for Mohamed Salah during the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
