Women’s Super League attendance growth has slowed sharply after the surge following England’s Euro 2022 triumph. Research shows median crowds increased only from 3,070 in 2023-24 to 3,236 in 2025-26.

A YouGov and Populous report surveyed 2,000 supporters and found that only 15% of recent women’s football attendees go to matches at least monthly. Several major fixtures have attracted smaller crowds, including Arsenal against Manchester United, which fell from 46,603 spectators to 29,853. The findings raise questions about scheduling, marketing, stadium choices and converting occasional spectators into regular supporters.

Why It Matters

Clubs must improve repeat attendance to sustain the women's game's commercial growth.
