Arne Slot and UEFA
9 October 2026
Former Liverpool manager Arne Slot has joined UEFA’s Technical Observer Group, returning to football four months after leaving Anfield. The Dutch coach will analyse European club competitions rather than immediately returning to a managerial position.
UEFA’s observer panel reviews matches using video and statistical analysis to identify tactical developments and produce coaching reports. Slot joins a group featuring Rafael Benítez, Roy Hodgson and Gareth Southgate while maintaining his ambition to manage a club again.
