Barbara Bonansea, San Diego Wave and Juventus

San Diego Wave have signed Italy forward Barbara Bonansea on loan from Juventus through June 2027. The 35-year-old, who has more than 100 international caps, will play professionally outside Italy for the first time after nearly a decade with Juventus.
Bonansea brings six Serie A titles with Juventus and two with Brescia to a Wave side pushing for the NWSL playoffs. San Diego have needed attacking depth after Dudinha’s season-ending knee injury, while Catarina Macario remains unavailable with a heel problem.
