Manchester City have completed the signing of Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea for a joint-British record £125 million. The Argentina midfielder has signed a five-year contract, becoming the first player in football history to move for more than £100 million twice.
City and Chelsea reached a compromise after Chelsea sought £135 million and City indicated they would walk away. The completed transfer breaks City’s club record for the second time this summer and reunites Fernandez with former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.
