Defending champions Bayern Munich opened the Bundesliga season with a 5-1 home victory over Stuttgart. Dayot Upamecano, Michael Olise, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Luis Diaz scored, while Stuttgart’s Josha Vagnoman also registered an own goal after earlier equalising.
Stuttgart levelled shortly after half-time, but Bayern restored their lead three minutes later and quickly pulled away. Substitute Ismael Saibari supplied two late assists, setting up Pavlovic and Diaz as Vincent Kompany’s side completed the emphatic opening-night victory.
