Todd Boehly, Mark Walter, Clearlake Capital and Chelsea
Monday
Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Mark Walter have explored selling their minority stakes to majority shareholder Clearlake Capital. Talks have begun inside the ownership group after a long-running rift, with each man’s 12.8% holding potentially worth about £640m.
Clearlake currently owns 61.5% and could consolidate greater control if a transaction proceeds. The discussions come as Boehly’s chairmanship approaches a scheduled change and disagreements remain around Chelsea’s future stadium plans, making the ownership talks strategically significant.
