FIFA has opened assault proceedings against Leandro Paredes, Nahuel Molina and assistant coach Roberto Ayala over clashes following Argentina’s World Cup final defeat by Spain. Thiago Almada, Gavi and the Argentine federation also face separate disciplinary cases.

The federation is being investigated over a Falklands banner, alleged discrimination, political messages, crowd behaviour and security breaches across several matches. FIFA will now receive responses from those charged before its disciplinary committee decides possible suspensions and sanctions.
