Portland Timbers, Vincent Janssen and Royal Antwerp
Monday
Portland Timbers are set to sign former Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen after agreeing terms with the free agent. The 32-year-old Dutch forward will not occupy a designated-player slot and arrives after four productive seasons with Royal Antwerp.
Janssen scored 13 goals and supplied seven assists last season while captaining Antwerp. Portland add an experienced centre-forward after Felipe Mora’s departure, giving new coach Marti Cifuentes another proven option alongside Venezuelan striker Kevin Kelsy.
