Aissa Mandi and Algeria

Algeria defender Aissa Mandi has announced his retirement from international football after the 2026 World Cup. The 34-year-old said representing Algeria had been an exceptional honour but that the right time had come.
Mandi leaves after more than a decade with the national team and was part of the side that won the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. His exit follows Riyad Mahrez also ending his Algeria career.
