Newcastle have reached a full agreement with Freiburg to sign Switzerland midfielder Johan Manzambi in a package worth around £51m. The 20-year-old World Cup breakout star is set to become a record sale for the Bundesliga club.
Newcastle moved ahead of Aston Villa after Manzambi’s tournament rise increased interest across Europe. The Magpies are finalising personal details with his camp, using financial headroom created by Sandro Tonali’s £100m move to Tottenham this summer.
