Newcastle United are close to signing Reims goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen in a deal worth around £18.65 million. The 20-year-old is expected to travel for medical checks before becoming Newcastle’s first summer arrival.
Newcastle negotiated the fee below earlier £24 million suggestions as they target younger high-upside players. Jaouen is viewed as a long-term project rather than an immediate starter, with questions still around Nick Pope and James Trafford.
