Brazil full-back Wesley has been ruled out of the World Cup with a left thigh adductor injury. Carlo Ancelotti called up Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who is expected to complete his Manchester United move after the tournament.
Wesley left the Egypt friendly in tears after only 15 minutes, forcing Brazil to rethink their right-back plan. Ederson’s addition also balances the squad, giving Ancelotti another midfield option if he moves away from a 4-2-4 shape.
