Germany forward Lennart Karl has been ruled out of the World Cup after suffering a thigh injury in training. The 18-year-old Bayern Munich talent will be replaced in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad by RB Leipzig midfielder Assan Ouedraogo.
Karl had started Germany’s friendly win over Finland and set up a goal during his rapid rise. Nagelsmann said the injury was a huge shock, while Germany also continue monitoring Manuel Neuer’s calf issue before their opener.
