Adam Hlozek was included in Czech Republic’s World Cup squad despite playing only 37 Bundesliga minutes last season. Manager Miroslav Koubek defended the surprise decision, saying the forward’s short comeback cameo showed enough quality and fitness.
Hlozek quickly justified the faith by assisting Tomas Ladra and scoring in a 2-0 friendly win over Kosovo. After a season disrupted by injuries, the Hoffenheim forward now has a late chance to make tournament impact.
