Niklas Süle’s Dortmund career appears close to ending in brutal fashion after a fresh knee injury in defeat to Hoffenheim. The defender, already confirmed to be leaving this summer, may have played his final match for BVB after slipping in the box, handling the ball as he fell, and then watching a penalty be awarded while hurt. Süle was recalled by Niko Kovac for the first time since February 7, but his comeback ended badly when he twisted his knee while trying to stop Andrej Kramaric. Kovac said there was no certainty yet, though club executive Lars Ricken admitted there was already suspicion of a serious injury.
