PSV Eindhoven, NEC and Kodai Sano

NEC and PSV have reached an agreement in principle for Japan midfielder Kodai Sano, reportedly worth €15m plus €2m in bonuses. Sano withdrew from NEC’s Champions League qualifier and is expected to undergo a medical.
NEC coach Dick Schreuder said Sano declined to play despite an internal agreement that he would feature in both Olympiakos matches. The decision created frustration, although teammates publicly said they understood his concern about risking injury.
