Middlesbrough, Columbus Crew and Max Arfsten

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of United States wing-back Max Arfsten from Columbus Crew in a deal worth up to $7.5m. The package includes performance bonuses, while Columbus will also retain a future sell-on clause.
Arfsten joins national-team colleagues Aidan Morris and Sebastian Berhalter after becoming one of MLS’s strongest wing-backs. The 25-year-old said Middlesbrough’s ambitions, culture and playing style convinced him to accept the new Championship challenge without hesitation.
