Harrison Armstrong, Everton and Nottingham Forest

Everton have stopped Harrison Armstrong’s proposed £40 million move to Nottingham Forest after a major supporter backlash. The board, led by Dan Friedkin, unanimously rejected Forest’s offer and decided to keep the highly rated 19-year-old England youth midfielder.

Forest’s bid had triggered furious chants during Everton’s draw at Bournemouth and opposition from manager David Moyes, captain James Tarkowski and supporter groups. The reversal is a hard update from the earlier live bid, ending the proposed sale for now.
