Caroline Weir has joined Lyon on a three-year contract after leaving Real Madrid, giving the Scotland captain a major move to one of women’s football’s most successful clubs. She scored 63 goals in 125 appearances in Spain.
Weir said she was excited by Lyon’s history and trophy ambitions after leaving Madrid without silverware. Lyon have won five straight domestic league titles and are seeking their first Champions League crown since 2022 under major pressure.
