Cavan Sullivan and United States
3 October 2026
Cavan Sullivan became the youngest goalscorer in United States men’s national team history at 17 years and five days, scoring from distance in a 3-0 victory over Mexico. He broke Mathis Albert’s record just four days after it was established.
Sullivan intercepted goalkeeper Raul Rangel’s pass before lobbing into the empty net for the United States’ second goal. Julian Hall and Malik Tillman also scored as Mauricio Pochettino’s youthful side recorded its biggest victory over Mexico since 2023.
