Saudi Arabia is pulling back from plans for the proposed Neom Stadium inside The Line, one of its most ambitious projects for the 2034 World Cup. The planned venue had been expected to hold about 46,000 spectators and cost roughly $2.5 billion.

Delays and the scaling back of The Line development are behind the change, while work continues on other World Cup venues. Saudi Arabia is planning 15 new or renovated stadiums across five cities ahead of the 48-team tournament.
