Netherlands, Serbia and Virgil van Dijk
4 October 2026
Netherlands beat Serbia 2-1 in Eindhoven as captain Virgil van Dijk made his 100th senior international appearance. Teun Koopmeiners opened the scoring before Joshua Zirkzee delivered the second-half winner after Mihajlo Cvetkovic had equalised.
The victory kept Xavi Hernandez’s Netherlands unbeaten and moved them onto eight points in their Nations League group. Van Dijk became only the 11th Dutch men’s player to reach 100 international appearances.
