Gateshead, Lee Cattermole and Mark Nellist

Gateshead have sacked manager Lee Cattermole while facing a wider financial and ownership crisis. Players and staff remain unpaid for September after majority shareholder Mark Nellist resigned from the board and withdrew his funding support.
Nellist plans to gift his shares to director Stephen Paylor, subject to Independent Football Regulator approval. Gateshead said Paylor cannot fund the club alone and warned the proposed transfer now appears unlikely to receive approval.
