Indonesia claimed the first trophy in their history by defeating Thailand on penalties in the ASEAN Cup final after the match finished 0-0 following extra time. Goalkeeper Emil Audero played the decisive role in the shootout.

Audero saved Nattapong’s penalty to secure the title for Indonesia. The Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper, who switched international allegiance in 2025, helped a squad featuring several Europe-based players complete an unbeaten run to the regional crown.
