UEFA has formally opened a disciplinary investigation into alleged misconduct during the Republic of Ireland’s 1-1 Nations League draw with Israel. Ireland performance chief Damien Doyle was reported to have accused an Israeli player of spitting at him.
UEFA appointed an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector after reviewing official match reports. The investigation marks a clear escalation from the original allegation and could lead to disciplinary action if misconduct by any player is established.
