England Women, Greece and Georgia Stanway
13 October 2026
England Women demolished Greece 5-0 in Leicester to advance to the next World Cup qualifying play-off round with an 8-1 aggregate victory. Georgia Stanway scored again as Sarina Wiegman’s side delivered the clinical performance demanded after their opening-leg win.
Alessia Russo and Lauren James scored twice each, while Stanway added another goal. Wiegman’s tactical adjustments included a new-look midfield featuring debutant Lexi Potter. England will face Ukraine in a two-legged play-off tie later in the year, with World Cup qualification still to be secured.
