Michel Platini has launched civil and criminal legal action against FIFA and Gianni Infantino, claiming he was wrongly pushed out of the 2016 FIFA presidential race. The case follows his acquittals over the disputed Blatter payment.
Platini’s complaint accuses Infantino and former FIFA officials of malicious prosecution and influence peddling. His legal team wants recognition that the allegations damaged his FIFA ambitions, just days before Infantino opens the World Cup.
