Thomas Muller has criticised the communication around Manuel Neuer’s return as Germany’s World Cup goalkeeper. The Bayern legend backed the sporting decision but said the handling of Oliver Baumann’s demotion could have been clearer.
Neuer was brought back after injury and restored ahead of Baumann, who had impressed in warm-up matches. Muller said the situation became heated because of communication, not because Neuer’s quality was in doubt.
