Real Betis came from behind twice to beat Lille 3-2 in their Champions League opener, with Troy Parrott scoring the winner. Lille’s Ethan Mbappe was then sent off for an off-ball elbow, leaving the hosts with 10 men for the closing stages.
Lille led through Ayase Ueda and Alexsandro, but Marc Bartra equalised twice before Parrott completed the comeback. Mbappe’s straight red followed shortly after the decisive goal, and the 19-year-old became the youngest French player sent off in Champions League history.
