Wrexham are closing in on Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, with the 26-year-old due to undergo a medical before a proposed permanent move. The former Sunderland academy player has made 169 competitive appearances and spent last season’s second half at Millwall.

Phil Parkinson wants another goalkeeper before Wrexham’s Championship opener against Cardiff. Patterson’s arrival could also trigger a departure for Arthur Okonkwo, who has entered the final year of his contract at the Racecourse Ground this summer.

The formal proposal moves Atletico ahead of clubs that have only monitored Fernandez-Pardo. Lille president Olivier Letang has publicly said the club wants to keep the winger, leaving Atletico to decide whether to improve its offer as competition develops.

Khalaili would add another right-sided attacking option and brings Champions League experience as Palace prepare for Europa League football. The move continues an active summer in which the club has already strengthened several defensive and wide positions.

Crystal Palace are finalising the signing of Real Salt Lake teenager Zavier Gozo after agreeing a package worth around $15m. The 19-year-old travelled to London for a medical and paperwork, with the fee setting a new outgoing transfer record for RSL.

Gozo scored six goals and supplied five assists in 16 matches this season while operating mainly as a wing-back. Palace expect him to join preseason immediately, completing a major academy-to-Europe sale for Real Salt Lake.
