Honest Ahanor, Chelsea and Atalanta

Chelsea are closing in on a deal worth around €40 million for Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor. Direct talks between the clubs have advanced significantly and personal terms are being finalised for the highly rated Italy youth international.

Atalanta had earlier rejected a €34 million offer from Brighton and initially valued Ahanor at €60 million. Chelsea could complete the transfer by Friday, subject to final negotiations, a medical and the contract being signed.

Napoli, Atletico Madrid, Juan Musso and Vanja Milinkovic-Savic

Napoli and Atletico Madrid are in advanced talks over a straight goalkeeper swap involving Juan Musso and Vanja Milinkovic-Savic. Musso wants to return to Italy, while Milinkovic-Savic is open to moving to Atletico after falling outside Napoli’s plans.

Napoli currently prefer Alex Meret as their first-choice goalkeeper, creating room for Milinkovic-Savic to leave. The proposed exchange would send the Serbian to Madrid while bringing the 32-year-old Argentine back to Serie A after his earlier Udinese spell.

Tottenham have agreed a season-long loan for Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, with an obligation to buy the Egypt international for £60 million next summer. The 27-year-old is expected to undergo a medical before completing the move.

Marmoush follows Savio from City to Tottenham during a major summer rebuild. City will effectively recover the £59 million paid to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025, while Spurs gain another forward after Marmoush scored 16 goals in 62 City appearances.

Moise Kean’s relationship with Fiorentina has deteriorated sharply after the striker arrived late for training and refused to take the pitch with his team-mates. Como have offered €35 million plus €5 million in bonuses for the Italy international.

Kean had also refused to start against Roma despite being selected, intensifying the dispute. Fiorentina are assessing Como’s €40 million package but want to secure a replacement before approving any transfer for the striker, who is contracted until 2029.

Brighton have completed the signing of Algeria left-back Jaouen Hadjam from Young Boys for about £9.5 million. The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract after making 98 competitive appearances during his spell with the Swiss club.

Brighton described Hadjam as a modern full-back suited to Fabian Hurzeler’s system. His arrival adds depth and competition on the left side after he produced 13 direct goal contributions across 73 Swiss Super League appearances for Young Boys.

Nathan Saliba, Villarreal and Anderlecht

Villarreal have completed the signing of Canada midfielder Nathan Saliba from Anderlecht for a reported €15 million. The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract running until June 2031 and will join the Spanish club for their Champions League campaign.

Saliba arrives after making 50 appearances and scoring five goals for Anderlecht. He described the transfer as a major career step and said playing Champions League football was a dream, joining Canadian team-mates already at Villarreal.
