    Monaco Drop Balogun From European Squad

    Monaco have left Folarin Balogun out of their Conference League squad and also omitted him from the group travelling to face Paris Saint-Germain. The USMNT striker is back in training but has not played in Monaco’s first four games.

    Monaco are under pressure to raise funds for French league financial rules and still hope to sell Balogun to a market that remains open. Saudi Arabia is one option, with its transfer window remaining open until 12 October.

    Arsenal Draw Barcelona and Lyon in Europe

    Arsenal have drawn holders Barcelona and eight-time winners Lyon in the Women’s Champions League league phase. Chelsea will travel to Lyon, while Manchester City face Bayern Munich away and host Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid among their six fixtures.

    All 18 clubs were drawn against six opponents, with three home and three away matches. Arsenal also face Benfica, HB Koge, Paris FC and Inter, while the first league-phase matches are scheduled for 22 and 23 September.

    Tottenham have rejected a fresh €20 million offer from Trabzonspor for Richarlison as the Turkish club tries to complete a deal before its transfer deadline. Mohamed Salah and Fabinho have also contacted the Brazil forward about making the move.

    Richarlison remains outside Roberto De Zerbi’s plans and was already omitted from Tottenham’s Premier League squad. Trabzonspor are continuing discussions, while the supplied reporting says Saudi Arabia or waiting until January remain alternatives if the Turkish move fails.

    Real Madrid generated about €210 million this summer from selling academy graduates and retained interests, helping fund €225 million in fixed transfer spending. Barcelona followed a similar approach and banked about €44.5 million from eight La Masia graduates.

    Madrid retained buy-back, priority or partial-rights mechanisms in many exits, while sell-on interests produced major additional income.     Jamal Musiala is back in Bayern Munich training after a medication change for absence seizures caused by a neurological dysfunction. The 23-year-old had collapsed during two consecutive preseason matches and has not yet returned to competitive action.

    Bayern included Musiala in their Champions League squad, while Vincent Kompany said specialists have given the club clear guidance on handling another episode. His next possible return is against Schalke or in Bayern’s Champions League opener against Bodo/Glimt.

    Al-Ittihad are preparing a second offer worth €37.5 million for Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa after their opening €30 million bid was rejected. Feyenoord coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst said he still expects the attacker to remain.

    Pato Consortium Wins Approval for Northampton Investment

    A consortium including former Brazil forward Alexandre Pato has received Independent Football Regulator and EFL approval for a proposed shareholding acquisition in Northampton Town. The size of Sports Alpha Capital’s planned stake has not yet been disclosed.

    Northampton said the regulatory process examined ownership structure, financial sustainability and investor suitability. The club will now complete remaining documentation before announcing full investment details, with chairman Kelvin Thomas previously saying the proposed investment would make Northampton debt-free.

    Old Firm Derbies Ban Away Fans This Season

    Rangers and Celtic will have no away supporters at Scottish Premiership or Premier Sports Cup derbies this season. The temporary arrangement follows an independent review into unrest and pitch incursions after their Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox last March.

    The clubs and SPFL agreed the measure while working with Police Scotland and other stakeholders on safety recommendations. Rangers had proposed giving Celtic 300 tickets for the upcoming cup tie, but Celtic rejected the reduced allocation before the blanket arrangement was announced.

    Rodri Completes Barcelona Rehab and Nears Start

    Rodri has completed his rehabilitation and specific fitness programme at Barcelona and is now training normally with the squad. Hansi Flick is considering whether to start the Spain midfielder against Valencia or wait for the Champions League meeting with Feyenoord.

    Rangers Complete Kelsy and Bouanani Double Deal

    Rangers have completed two deadline-day additions, buying Venezuela striker Kevin Kelsy from Portland Timbers and taking Algeria winger Badredine Bouanani on a season-long loan from Stuttgart. The deals take the Scottish Premiership club to 14 summer signings.

    Kelsy signed a four-year contract with an additional-year option after scoring 10 times in 16 Portland appearances this season. Bouanani arrives after limited Bundesliga starts with Stuttgart, giving Rangers another wide option as Scotland’s transfer window closes.
