Flamengo are in advanced talks to sign Arsenal midfielder Jorginho on a free transfer once his contract ends in June, aiming to include him in their squad for the Club World Cup starting June 17.
Sporting director Jose Boto confirmed negotiations are ongoing, but an early release from Arsenal may be needed if the Gunners reach the Champions League final on May 31, which would leave Jorginho with just 17 days before Flamengo’s opener.
