Wrexham, Michael Williamson, Shaun Harvey, Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac
8 November 2026
Wrexham have announced the departure of chief executive Michael Williamson, with director Shaun Harvey returning as acting chief executive. The leadership change follows concerns about the club’s operations during its rapid expansion.
Williamson oversaw rising revenue, workforce growth and development of the £69 million Kop Stand. However, Wrexham recently faced criticism over transfer administration, ticketing policies and an English Football League fine for fielding ineligible players. Harvey, a former EFL chief executive, will oversee operations while the club considers its next leadership arrangements. No definitive reason for Williamson’s departure has been publicly established.
Why It Matters
Wrexham face a significant leadership transition as their commercial growth increases pressure on club administration.
