Forest Green Rovers, Peterborough United, Robbie Savage and Dale Vince
30 October 2026
Forest Green Rovers have launched legal action against Peterborough United over allegations that the League One club approached manager Robbie Savage without permission before his departure earlier this month.
Forest Green owner Dale Vince claims Peterborough contacted Savage directly after initially being refused permission to speak with him. Savage subsequently left Forest Green on 2 October to become Peterborough’s manager. Peterborough previously denied making an illegal approach and maintained that its recruitment process followed the rules. No court ruling has been announced.
Why It Matters
The legal action could establish financial liability over the disputed recruitment of a contracted manager.
