Barcelona are reportedly reconsidering their decision not to sign an experienced defender during the summer transfer window following their 4-2 Champions League defeat against PSG. The club could look for defensive reinforcements in January, although financial restrictions remain a significant obstacle.

Spanish newspaper Sport reports that Barcelona’s sporting department has reopened discussions about signing a centre-back or full-back. The club previously considered Alessandro Bastoni and was also linked with Aymeric Laporte, but Flick preferred to retain the existing defensive options. Injuries to Eric García and Jules Koundé have increased pressure on the squad. Any January signing may require Barcelona to release wages or sell a player first. No formal offer or agreement has been announced.
