Liverpool, Dominik Szoboszlai, Jeremie Frimpong and Andoni Iraola
18 October 2026
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has warned that Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong could be sidelined for some time after injuries sustained during Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Brentford. The update adds concern ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League meeting with Villarreal and a demanding run of fixtures.
Szoboszlai left the match during the first half after aggravating an existing injury, while Frimpong suffered a new problem shortly after coming on at half-time. Iraola said the squad had struggled with limited recovery time following European competition. Neither player’s exact injury severity or return date was confirmed, but the manager expects both to miss further matches.
