Lille, Tiago Santos, Le Havre and Amir Richardson

Lille are considering legal action after defender Tiago Santos suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and meniscal tear following a challenge by Le Havre midfielder Amir Richardson. Lille have formally requested an examination of the refereeing decisions surrounding the incident.
Santos was stretchered off during Lille’s 1-0 victory, but Richardson received no card for the tackle. Lille have referred the challenge to French football authorities and reserved the right to seek compensation. Le Havre defended the officials’ decision, while Santos faces several months out.
