Burnley and Watford
10 October 2026
Burnley secured a comprehensive 4-0 away victory over Watford in the Championship, ending a prolonged struggle for league wins. Watford conceded three times inside the opening 25 minutes and suffered their third consecutive league defeat.
Burnley capitalised on Watford’s poor start to register their first league victory since February 2026 and their first away league win in almost a year. The defeat left Watford twentieth in the Championship, increasing scrutiny of manager Alessio Dionisi.
