Former Manchester City and Spain midfielder David Silva has returned to professional football at 40, signing for Hong Kong Premier League club Sha Tin. The World Cup winner had retired in 2023 following a serious knee injury at Real Sociedad.
Silva confirmed the move through a video message, while Sha Tin said he will join training and regain match fitness before making his debut. His arrival brings one of Spain’s most decorated midfielders to a club currently eighth in Hong Kong’s top division.
