Savannah DeMelo and Racing Louisville
3 October 2026
Savannah DeMelo returned to NWSL competition for the first time since collapsing during a match in September 2025. The Racing Louisville midfielder entered as a stoppage-time substitute during her team’s 1-1 draw against the Utah Royals.
DeMelo recently revealed that an undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia caused her collapse. Her return followed more than a year away from league competition and marked the next step after she was medically cleared to resume her playing career.
