Willy Sagnol, Ramaz Svanadze and Georgia
26 September 2026
Georgia have dismissed Willy Sagnol as head coach less than 24 hours after a 1-0 Nations League home defeat by Northern Ireland. The federation immediately promoted under-21 coach Ramaz Svanadze, handing him the senior job through the end of 2028.
Sagnol leaves after 57 matches and after leading Georgia to their first major tournament at Euro 2024. Svanadze moves up from the under-21 side, while his assistant Giorgi Adamia will handle the youth team’s final three qualifying matches.
