Cristiano Ronaldo was named in Jorge Jesus’ first Portugal squad, ending speculation that the 41-year-old could retire from international football after the World Cup. The Al-Nassr forward is part of a 25-player group for four upcoming Nations League matches.
Jesus replaced Roberto Martinez after Portugal’s World Cup exit and previously coached Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. Portugal host Wales on September 24 before facing Norway away, Denmark away and Norway again at home during the extended international window.
