Lionel Messi scored his 100th Inter Miami goal as the club beat Cruz Azul 2-0 to win the Campeones Cup. He headed in the opener before assisting Casemiro’s late goal, delivering a trophy in Cristian Gonzalez’s first match in charge.
Messi reached 100 Miami goals in 115 appearances, faster than he reached the same mark for Barcelona or Argentina. Luis Suarez supplied the opening cross, while Messi’s corner created Casemiro’s second as Miami secured its first Campeones Cup title.
