Cody Gakpo, Manchester City and Liverpool

Manchester City have opened talks with Liverpool for Cody Gakpo, who has indicated the Etihad is his preferred destination and rejected Tottenham. Same-batch reporting also says City reached a personal agreement with the Netherlands forward as negotiations over the fee continue.
Liverpool value Gakpo at about £85 million and are considering a sale after agreeing to sign Bradley Barcola. However, they want another attacking replacement before approving his exit, leaving City working against the transfer deadline to complete the club agreement.
