U.S. Youth Soccer members are preparing to vote on a bylaw amendment that would effectively hand control of the 2.5-million-player organisation to the U.S. Soccer Federation. People close to the process expect the proposal to pass comfortably.
Approval would allow U.S. Soccer to fully absorb USYS by 2028 and work directly with its state associations. The restructuring is intended to create a more coordinated youth system, though the reporting says it will not by itself eliminate pay-to-play costs.
